Requirements

Entry qualification

High school / secondary education (or higher). The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian.

Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Language requirements (English)

 

Accepted proof of proficiency: English, A1 level (as per CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference). This program is not intended for native English speakers.

Specific requirements for Non-EU applicants

Please, keep in mind that non-EU citizens are required to cover one full-year tuition fee before the end of the admission period.

Applicants can choose to study for one whole year and pay for two semesters of English Foundation, or one semester of English Foundation and one semester of Bachelor level studies.

Information

For students needing to advance their English language skills, SMK offers English Foundation. The duration of the programme is one or, if needed, two semesters. After completing the programme you will bring your language level to the upper intermediate level which is required to study at SMK. The programme is available every semester starting Fall and Spring and is delivered full time.

The programme consists of 12 academic hours per week plus various independent and group projects in order to help students better prepare for university studies.

Programme structure

Programme encompasses these subjects:

– English Reading and Analysis;

– Basics of English Grammar;

– English Listening and Understanding;

– Public Speaking;

– Computer Literacy;

– Lithuanian Culture and Society (1st semester);

– Personal Development (2nd semester).

– Besides the English language, students are also able to attend various classes offered at SMK which could help to decide what to study at the university level.

SMK also organizes various cultural activities for students to know Vilnius and Lithuania better. The obtained certificate will be accepted when seeking admission at other universities across Europe.
